An interesting course that is delivered in a combination of both field and classroom. This course builds basic tree knowledge, giving the candidate the right skills to be able to identify common species of tree, know the associated growth rates and the typical timber characteristics of those species.

We also cover basic hazard recognition. Candidates will learn to spot potentially dangerous trees through understanding pests, diseases and the biomechanics of trees, and how they function as living organisms.

  • Identify hazardous trees and branches

UA 2.1 Assessments
