On this course you will learn legislation specific to chainsaw maintenance and operations, how to maintain a chainsaw – crucial for the safe use of the equipment. You will be taught crosscutting techniques, and how to fell trees using a variety of cuts, followed by instruction on how to process the tree to site specification. This course is run by an approved Lantra instructor, on a maximum 4:1 ratio. The course combines instruction and practice in both the workshop and out in the woodland)

Assessments for units 201/202/203 (CS30/CS31) take place after the 5-day course has been completed. Alternatively, candidates can be assessed at a later date.
Assessment only: We offer a single day option for those who have attended this course previously, or those who feel they are competent to pass the assessments. We do recommend our one-day refresher course for anyone who would like additional training before being assessed.
