(previously CS30 & 201/202)
This course covers legislation specific to working with chainsaws. You will learn how to carry out essential chainsaw maintenance, crucial to the safe operation of equipment, and safe, efficient crosscutting techniques. Each course is run on a maximum 4:1 ratio, using a workshop and woodland.
Pre-requisites: First Aid is highly recommended by the HSE, but not essential.
NPTC Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting Assessment
Assessments for units 201/202 (previously CS30) can be carried out straight after the 2-day course has been completed, or at a later date.
Assessment only: We offer standalone 1-day assessments to people with previous experience, who already have the knowledge and practical ability required for the City and Guilds assessment. There are also one-day refresher courses available for those who have not recently attended a chainsaw maintenance and crosscutting course.
