Unit 303 Arboricultural Dismantling Operations Course

(previously CS41 & 309)


On this course you will learn all you need to know about aerial tree rigging to be able to carry out lowering and dismantling operations safely, efficiently and effectively. Learn the use of rigging, and lowering techniques taking into account species, loads and weights, safe working loads, and a range of other important safety factors.


Pre-requisite units: 201, 202, 203, 206, 306, 308


  • Reinforcing previously obtained knowledge gained in the pre-requisite courses
  • Promotion of health and safety and good industry practice when rigging and lowering
  • Understanding how to carry out aerial rigging safely and efficiently
  • Be able to carry out aerial rigging safely and efficiently
  • Understanding anticipated loads and how to minimise shock loading in the rigging system
  • Differing techniques and their application


NPTC Arboricultural Dismantling Operations Assessment

Assessment for NPTC unit 309 (previously CS41) takes place immediately after the 3-day training course. Alternatively the 1-day assessment can be booked for a later date.


Assessment only: We also provide assessment only options for experienced arborists with the necessary pre-requisite qualifications. There is no requirement to have completed a Red Stag Training course, however we would advise that interested candidates consider our one-day refresher course.
