City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Utility Arboriculture, Tree Species recognition, Growth |characteristics and Associated Hazards
An interesting course that is delivered in a combination of both field and classroom. This course builds basic tree knowledge, giving the candidate the right skills to be able to identify common species of tree and fungus, know the associated growth rates and the typical timber characteristics of those species.
We also cover basic hazard recognition. Candidates will learn to spot potentially dangerous trees through understanding pests, diseases and the biomechanics of trees, and how they function as living organisms.
Pre-requisites: UA 301
The one-day course is followed by a half day assessment. Assessment only options are available for candidates that have the necessary training, experience and skills in place to be able to meet the requirements of the assessment.
